World Environment Day June 5, 2025
Mount Carmel English Medium School, Shirthady, came alive with green spirit as students and staff joined hands to celebrate World Environment Day on June 5th, 2025. The event was graced by Mr. Basappa Halageri, Forest Officer, who inspired the young minds with his words on protecting nature. Also present were our Vice President of the School Management Committee, Mr. Herald D’Silva, and our dedicated Headmistress, Mrs. Bindu Maxim D’Souza.
The celebration began with a variety of colorful and meaningful performances by the students, all echoing one message: Save the Earth. Songs, skits, and dance routines brought environmental awareness to the forefront in creative ways.
After the stage program, the students took to the streets of Shirthady in a powerful eco-rally, chanting slogans like "Say No to Plastic!" and holding placards urging the community to act for a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
A highlight of the day was the street play (Anaku Adugabba), presented by students, portraying the urgent need to protect our environment. It captured everyone’s attention and drove the message home with both emotion and impact.
The program concluded on a hopeful note, with a collective pledge to combat plastic pollution and become true guardians of nature.
